Today I painted the orchid that I was given for my birthday last month. I wanted to see if I could do a 6x6 composition. Also the pansy painting from two day's ago that I worked on a little more.

I changed the color of the raft in the center of the painting in hopes of it making the painting more interesting. I painted this painting all with a pallet knife.

Today I painted our amaryllis flowers that were suppose to bloom at Christmas. They were late and came at Valentine's day.

This is my second pansy of the season. I did like mixing colors to get the right shades of maroon. I'm not sure about the background. I may change it to a robin egg blue.

Today I saw the first trays of pansies at our local grocery store. So I bought two to paint and later plant. I had fun mixing just the right purples for this one.

This is today's painting. Two images of the same painting. The sun light was out on the top painting. the sun was behind a cloud on the second painting so it's cooler. I spent some of today thinking about a larger painting I'm going to do for an upcoming show.

Today's painting is of the flowers that we have for Valentine's day. The image I took in the rain is not good. The roses and snapdragons are more purple. The hydrangea flowers are more chartreuse.

I painted a new yellow primrose today. The sun was out today. the image of the painting isn't as true to color as I would like. Some of the flowers are more lemon yellow and that doesn't show. I worked more on the fruit bowl and on the sailing lesson with pallet knife.
