Red Peonies #2,still life,oil on canvas,6x6,price$200
Today I painted these peonies with Cad Red deep, alizarin crimson. Cad orange and rose permanent in the light, and Ultra Marine Blue in the shadow. I think yesterday's color was closer to the true flower color. Today I saw the ultramarine so clearly in the shadow. I made an image of the two next to each other on my blog.

Bayside Shade,figure,oil on canvas,6x6,priceNFS
It is hard for me to get the form of a figure all in shade. But I like a challenge, so I tried painting my husband in the shade. I also put up yesterday's painting of the boat at low tide. I work a little bit more on it.
