Plate of Lemons,still life,oil on canvas,6x6,price$200

Today's painting of "Plate of Lemons" was painted of the same lemons of yesterday but I used outside natural light. Yesterday's Lemons had an indoor floodlight on them. The image was taken outside under gray skies. The lemons in the painting are way more yellow then this image. I will take another picture of it again in sunlight soon.

I bought these grapes today at our local Co-Op. They changed color under the flood light. A hard color to match. Tomorrow I'll paint them under natural light. They will be much more red.

This was a demo for one of the classes I gave. I did an under painting of the values then put in the colors staying in the same values. I don't paint that way for myself. I just think about the value of the pure colors that I will use. Also I fixed the sail on yesterday's boat painting so it looks as if it has the wind in it.

I changed the background on this painting. I like the way it pops.I think changing the background might have made the flowers look cut out. So I'll have to fix that by softening the flower edges a little.

I painted this in the sunlight coming in my studio window. These are the last of my hydrangeas.The paint was out all week so it was dryer then I like. The sunlight seems to move faster this time of year. Maybe I'm slow because of my head cold. This weekend is the last showing of my studio and artwork for this year.Hope I see you here.

Today I painted the first d'anjou pear to fall from the tree. We have two pear trees. The other one is a wonderful delicious bartlett. I started this painting with a brush and ended using a palette knife.
