This is a reworked painting that I started in August, 2014. I sometimes go back to older paintings and make changes. So on this blog I will put up the way it was, so you can see what I did to it.

This is my third day painting the mandarines. The photo of this painting was taken out in the rain. I'll have to take the photos again when we have a sunny day and see if the colors are better.

Today one more painting of Mandarines. This time looking straight at them . Yesterday I looked down on them. Again I find it so much fun to mix the colors. I took the painting's picture out in the rain today. So the colors in the image are a bit dull.

This was a challenge today. I started out with the sunlight on the plants. So I ended up with a light on the plants because the light moved, changed, and then went away. I was painting on a textured linen. I like to paint on smooth canvas. But I am happy with how it is now.

This is a painting that I have been working on for the upcoming show "Threshold". I painted a smaller painting of this figure in the door way last year. The show is about women, care and nurture. I think a pregnant women on the threshold of motherhood will fit in the show.

This is another new oil painting of a geranium plant. I put up two images because there is a small change I made on the painting in the second image. The second image is also lighter. Please know that because I paint in oils they are WET the day I show them on my blog. It takes a good week to dry to the touch. Because I like to Vanish with Gamvar and I have had to send off paintings right away I asked the experts at Gamblin if I could varnish my paintings before 6 month. They told me to go ahead when it's dry to the touch. They also told me that I could use a cold wax medium if I wanted a dull finish. Any time you need technical help from Gambin they are most helpful. They also have videos to show you how to do things.

I painted the sunflowers again today. I like today's better. The sun is so bright today it made it hard for me to take a good photo image. I posted yesterday's painting again because I painted on it a tiny bit.
