My mother was English. Tea was every afternoon at my parents home. People were always welcome for tea and cookies at 4. So this was painted in memory of my mother for Mother's Day weekend. While I painting today, my 13 week old puppy let me know that she needed to go. I was happy to stop what I was doing and take her out. All ended well and I went back to my painting.
